Least BitternToday I was driving very slowly along a road at the San Bernard Wildlife Refuge, using my car as a blind, when this Least Bittern flushed, flew into the reeds and scurried out of sight. But after a few minutes of waiting the bird peeked out again to see what I was up to, and luckily the afternoon light was perfect where he peeked out. It seems to me that birds are often as curious about us as we are about them. I am not sure what the loose fuzz signifies. If anyone knows please let me know.
