Gnarl roots and reflections from the Medina River in Texas lead to the lightGnarlyGnarled roots anchor Arching cypress canopy - Flowing to the light.

The gnarled roots of this Cypress tree on the bank of the Medina River near Bandera Texas is the reason for the title, "Gnarly". The Medina is a beautiful river in the Texas Hill Country that's lined by towering Cypress trees.

The caption is:

Flowing to the light.

The image was made with an extreme wide angle lens by getting very close to the ground and the roots. I wanted to show the twisting inter-related roots and the lines leading into the light.
